Trauma Journal

Have you been through something traumatic and feel stuck in your emotions?
Does music have a way of speaking to your heart at the exact moment you need it to?

I wrote this journal for you. After experiencing something traumatic, you will feel a variety of emotions.  Sometimes we can move through the trauma and back to life again.  However, sometimes we get stuck in the emotion.  The anger or sadness is just overwhelming, and we cannot find the light again.  So, this journal was written for you; the person who enjoys the healing power of music, has found themselves emotionally stuck after trauma, and are ready to find hope and light once again.

In this journal, you will find:

  • Tools for intrusive memories, including how to use them, why they work, and space to make them fit what you need.

  • Six Chapters covering common feelings people have after trauma. These include numbness, anger, sadness, anxiety, shame and loneliness.

  • Therapeutic based prompts using concepts from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and other therapy models to help you move forward from your stuck point towards post traumatic growth

  • Research based reasons for feeling stuck in each emotion, why it is needed, and what you can do to help reduce the severity of the emotion

  • Over 100 carefully selected suggested songs from the Pop, Country, Christian, and Rock genres to allow you to safely explore the feeling as well as move forward from it.

Your journey does not end once you reach the last page, so, at the end of this journal, you will find two chapters dedicated to helping you continue your journey toward post traumatic growth, as well as spaces to highlight important songs and ideas for you to come back to when you need them most.

This journal was designed so that you can learn more about each emotion, understand how you experience the emotion, and what helps so that when it comes up again, you will be able to identify the emotion and know specifically what will help.
