EMDR Therapy

EMDR is a highly researched and proven method of treatment that helps individuals reduce the levels of distress, negative thoughts, and emotions associated with distressing memories. EMDR has shown to help with trauma, depression, anxiety, and other distressing experiences. As someone who has benefited from these techniques, I am excited to now offer it as an EMDR trained therapist.

I have been to this place and heard the same thing from so many others…

You feel broken. Beyond repair. So wounded that no one could ever really love you. There is just too much baggage, too much damage. This is your life, there is nothing you can do about it. Why even put energy into something that cannot be changed?

It is a horrible place to be. You could be in a crowded room, surrounded by family, and still feel all alone…like a stranger in your own skin. Trauma has this effect. It leaves you with memories you don’t want, mood changes, triggers, and even alters your view of yourself and others around you. These, and many other horrible side effects, are common outcomes of trauma. Though it feels like this is life now, I can tell you that there is light at the end of the tunnel. Healing can come.

Heal with EMDR

All you want is to feel normal again. To feel happy, the way you see those around you acting. You just want your life back, or perhaps just to be better, because all you have ever known is hurt. Sometimes you just need your own space to process through what happened. That is ok. Talking through things can be very hard. You will have space to share your story if you choose to do so, but sharing details is not required for healing to occur. EMDR can help.
